Canadian producers Cass & Co, Blacktop Recess option Ian Hamilton’s Ava Lee detective novels

Canadian producers Robin Cass and Robert Munroe have optioned author Ian Hamilton’s Ava Lee and Uncle Chow Tung detective novels to be made into a TV series.

The deal includes all 17 Ava Lee novels and the four Uncle Chow Tung prequel novels, for a TV series to be produced by Cass and Munroe’s respective companies Cass & Co and Blacktop Recess.

Cass’s credits include The Kindness of Strangers, High Life and The Republic of Love, while Munroe’s include The Tudors, The Borgias, The Expanse, Altered Carbon and What We Do in The Shadows.

Hamilton’s Ava Lee and Uncle Chow novels have been printed in eight languages in more than 20 countries.
