Canada’s ZoomerMedia promotes Beverley Shenken to chief content officer

Canadian channels operator ZoomerMedia has promoted Beverley Shenken to chief content officer at its TV division.

Shenken now adds affiliate relations to her ongoing programming, scheduling, independent production and regulatory responsibilities.

Shenken becomes the chief liaison between ZoomerMedia and Canada’s broadcast distribution undertakings and will lead negotiations for multi-year agreements for carriage and distribution for ZoomerMedia’s TV channels.

These include: flagship national specialty channel VisionTV, which airs British comedy and drama series plus uplifting movies, music, news and multicultural faith programmes; and exercise and entertainment channel OneTV.

Previously ZoomerMedia’s senior VP of content and programming and general manager of its TV division, Shenken has held numerous roles during her time with the company and acquired programming such as Doc Martin and Downton Abbey.

ZoomerMedia was founded by CEO Moses Znaimer in 2008 and is aimed at an audience aged 45-plus.
