Australian scribe Justin Monjo (Storm Boy) is developing the project alongside Canadian writer Lynn Coady (Orphan Black), with Murdoch Mysteries star Hélène Joy attached to play the lead role. Orion Lee (First Cow) is also attached to star.

The project is being structured as a coproduction between Montreal-based Muse Entertainment and Pop Entertainment, a division of Australian production and financing company Pop Family Entertainment.

The project is described as a “heart-pounding crime drama about an unconventional female detective who will stop at nothing to bring criminals to justice, both inside and outside the law.”

Lynn Coady, Joy, Matthew Lesher, Justin Monjo, Jesse Prupas and Carmel Travers will serve as executive producers, while Daniel Nettheim (Line of Duty, Broadchurch) is attached to direct.
