Canadian industry veterans Sean Connolly and Donnie MacIntyre are setting up a new production company called Limestone Animation.

Connolly and MacIntyre will serve as co-CEOs of the Kingston, Ontario-based animation and digital media studio, which says it is “designed from the ground up to embrace modern production technologies while championing the creativity of its team and collaborators.”

Among its initial development slate is an adaptation of RL Stine’s latest anthology horror book series, Stinetinglers.

The project is set in the seemingly idyllic town of Blooming Hills, where unknown forces unleash chilling terrors on local teens.

Limestone Animation said the project marks a “milestone” as the first of Stine’s projects ever to be adapted exclusively for animation, after multiple adaptations into live-action films and series.

Four volumes of Stinetinglers have been published already with a fifth scheduled for 2026. Stine is the author behind the Goosebumps and Fear Street series, with his books selling more than 500 million copies globally to date.

Connolly, MacIntyre and Stine will serve as executive producers alongside Eric Birnberg as well as Yvonne Bernard and Dan Bernard of LA-based Lookout Entertainment.

“Animation is the perfect medium to tell the twisted tales of Stinetinglers. These spooky stories will be brought to life in a way unlike any of my work before,” said Stine.

“But more than that, I was blown away by the unique spin the team at Limestone Animation proposed and I immediately knew they were the right partners to bring to screen my newest stories.”

Connolly and MacIntyre said in a statement: “We’re honoured that RL Stine has trusted us with his latest book series. Stinetinglers is the perfect project to launch our studio with because it represents everything we want Limestone Animation to be: the home of creative storytelling that is bold, imaginative, and designed to bring audiences of all ages together.”
