Canada’s CBC picks up Aussie reality series The Swap and feature The Babadook

Canada’s CBC continues to gravitate to new Australian content, picking up documentary series The Swap from Southern Pictures for its new season slate.

Debuting on CBC Gem in October, The Swap is a 3×60’ reality series which follows 12 students and families from very different communities confronting and exploring their differences  and similarities in an experimental school swap.

CBC has also acquired award-winning Australian feature horror film The Babadook created by writer/director Jennifer Kent for streaming service CBC Gem.

The new Australian acquisitions join comedy series Austin from Lincoln Pictures/Northern Pictures, which was announced earlier this month.
