Production starts on S4C and Sundance Now’s The Light in the Hall sequel Still Waters

UK-based Long Story TV, Triongl in Wales and APC Studios have begun production on the second chapter of anthology series The Light in the Hall (Y Golau) for Welsh pubcaster S4C and AMC Networks’ Sundance Now.

The sequel, called Still Waters (Y Golau: Dŵr), is being filmed in both English and Welsh and has received support from Creative Wales. Broadcast is planned for 2025.

APC Studios is handling worldwide sales for the 6×60’ psychological thriller, the English-language version of which will stream on Sundance Now in North America, Australia and New Zealand. UK pubcaster Channel 4 has also acquired the series.

Written and created by Regina Moriarty (Murdered by My Boyfriend) and directed by Rhys Carter, Erin Richards and Sion Ifan, Still Waters stars Sian Reese-Williams (Hidden, Wolf), Mark Lewis Jones (Outlander, Chernobyl), Nia Roberts (Hidden, The Crown), Robert Glenister (Hustle, The Night Caller), Tom Rhys Harries (White Lines, Suspicion) and Maeve Courtier-Lilley (The Red King).

The exec producers are S4C’s head of film and drama Gwenllian Gravelle, Sundance Now’s VP of programming Shannon Cooper, APC Studios’ co-founder and CEO Laurent Boissel, Long Story TV’s co-founders Paul Marquess and Donna Wiffen and exec producer Jo Roderick, and Triongl’s co-creative directors Nora Ostler Spiteri and Gethin Scourfield and MD Alec Spiteri.
