Cake, Aardman, Disney alum Rob Doherty joins Hasbro Entertainment as production VP

Hasbro Entertainment, the content arm of toymaker Hasbro, has named former Aardman Animations, Cake Entertainment and Disney alum Rob Doherty VP of production.

The industry veteran will be responsible for overseeing production across Hasbro Entertainment’s slate of animation and digital content.

Doherty most recently led the consultancy firm Relevant Content, where he advised clients with a focus on social gaming and how to work with platforms such as Roblox.

He has previously held roles including senior VP of production at Cake Entertainment, senior broadcast producer at Aardman Animations and UK creative manager for Disney, as well as doing stints at ITV, Endemol, Initial Productions, TVC Cartoons and M2 Films.

In recent years, his production credits have included Angry Birds: Summer Madness (Netflix), Supa Team 4 (Netflix) and Space Chickens in Space (9Go! and Disney XD).

“He brings a rare combination of production leadership, creative instinct and deep industry experience,” said Tom Hartley, Hasbro’s VP of animation and digital content.

“As we continue to grow our animation and digital content slate, Rob’s expertise in development, production and emerging platforms will be a major asset to the team and our broader ambitions.”
