CAA agent to help build Kimmelot

US media outfit Kimmelot, the label launched by Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment and Jimmy Kimmel last year, has named a former CAA agent as its president.

Scott Lonker

Scott Lonker will head Kimmelot, which was launched in the autumn and is described as “a Kimmel-driven creative lab” that will create content in the unscripted, scripted, digital, app/mobile area. Initial projects will focus on comedy.

The label sits alongside unscripted production company Spoke Studios and digital content company Portal A, also both part of Wheelhouse.

Based in New York, Lonker has been a TV packaging agent in the alternative television department at CAA for nearly eight years, representing unscripted production firms including Truly Original (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Matador (Lip Sync Battle) and Love Productions (Great American Baking Show).

He previously packaged Netflix and Radical Media’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, and Race for The White House and American Dynasties: The Kennedys for CNN.

Before CAA, Lonker was VP of unscripted development at A&E Television Networks.

Earlier this year Montgomery added execs including Julie Souza at Wheelhouse, which was launched by the former ITV America CEO in 2018. Late last year it added A+E Networks veteran Sean Cohan to its staff roster.
