Blink Films’ Mummy Mysteries/Mummies Unwrapped

The UK’s Channel 5 and Travel Channel in the US have ordered a factual series investigating the stories behind some of the world’s most famous Egyptian mummies.

Tin Roof Media-owned UK prodco Blink Films is producing the six-part series, which will be titled Mummy Mysteries on Discovery-owned Travel Channel and Mummies Unwrapped on Viacom-owned terrestrial Channel 5.

The show will follow a team of experts from around the world using cutting-edge science, new historical breakthroughs and modern criminological techniques in search of the means, motives and opportunities that led to the deaths of six of Ancient Egypt’s most important royals.

Andra Heritage and Justine Kershaw are exec producing with Michael Douglas series editing. Joseph Cunningham and Jess Reid film and direct.

Based in London, Blink Films was recently commissioned to produce natural history series Meet the Chimps for Nat Geo and Disney+ and social history series Unforgotten for BBC2.
