C5 hands BriteSpark first UK order

The UK’s Channel 5 has commissioned a one off special doc on the Yorkshire Ripper from fledgling Argonon joint venture BriteSpark Films.

Left for Dead by the Yorkshire Ripper (1×60’) is the first UK commission for BriteSpark and will air on C5 next month.

The doc speaks to those who were attacked by notorious serial killer Peter Sutcliffe but lived to tell the tale.

BriteSpark launched in January last year as a joint venture between former Cineflix head of documentaries Nick Godwin and London-based super indie Argonon.

Its first international commission was Handsome Devils, a 10-part doc series on real life ladykillers, which was greenlit by Investigation Discovery in November.

International distribution of BriteSpark content is handled jointly by TCB Rights, run by another former Cineflix exec, Paul Heaney, and in-house sales arm Argonon International.
