C5, Globosat take The Royals

The UK’s Channel 5 and Globosat in Brazil are among the broadcasters taking a documentary on the British Royal Family from distributor Content Television.

The Royals is a six-part doc series from Back2Back Productions that aims to provide the definitive look at royal life.

C5 will premiere the show in a primetime slot later this year and distributor Content has also secured sales to DirecTV in Latin America.

MTV in Finland, Australian pay TV platform Foxtel, Sky TV in New Zealand and Channel 8 in Israel have also selected the series for TV broadcast.

The show is part of an ongoing partnership between Content and Back2Back.

Greg Phillips, president of Content Television and Digital, said: “Our collaboration with Back2Back has allowed us to be involved from the very outset in the development of The Royals.”
