C4 tries on plus-sized doc

Channel 4 in the UK has commissioned a comedy prank pilot featuring a young magician and hypnotist and a one-off doc about plus-sized brides.

C4 doc 17 Kids and Counting centres on the Radford family

Look Into My Eyes is being produced by All3Media-owned Objective Productions and features 21-year-old magician and hypnotist Archie Manners.

The pilot was commissioned by head of formats Dom Bird and formats commissioning editor Danny Carvalho and will air later this year.

C4 is also moving ahead with My Big Fat Wedding (1×60) from ITV-owned prodco Twofour. The obs doc is set in a bridal shop that caters for plus-sized brides in the north of England.

Finally, the network has commissioned Lion Television to make 18 Kids and Counting, a follow-up to one-off doc 17 Kids and Counting about the Radford family, which recently added another baby to its ever-growing brood.
