C4 rustles up fast food series

UK indie Fresh One Productions has won a 40-part commission for Jamie’s Thirty Minute Meals, a new series fronted by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, from Channel 4.

The 20×30′ series will kick off this autumn with daily episodes at 17.00, and a further 20 episodes showing next year. The series aims to demonstrate that “anyone can get a delicious feast on the table in less time than it takes for a takeaway pizza to arrive.”

The channel has also confirmed plans to broadcast Oliver’s Emmy-nominated six-part series Jamie’s American Food Revolution later this autumn. That series, a coproduction between Fresh One and Ryan Seacrest Productions, aired on ABC in the US earlier this year.

Dominique Walker, Channel 4’s commissioning editor for factual entertainment, said: “The series gives Jamie the chance to do what he does best: coming up with clever and inspiring dishes and making them accessible in Jamie’s inimitable way.

“You wouldn’t believe that you can cook such ambitious meals in less than half an hour.”
