C4 returns to Homeland

UK terrestrial Channel 4 has confirmed it will air the second season of Homeland after the finale of the first clocked up a ratings high on Sunday.

The first season of Homeland, which comes from US premium cable network Showtime and producers Fox 21, concluded in the UK with 2.78 million viewers – an 11.5% audience share. Its debut episode had 2.2 million viewers.

It will now return this autumn after drawing a consolidated audience of more than four million viewers each week during its 12-week run.

The second season will debut on Showtime at the end of September.

Meanwhile, UK satellite channel Sky Arts will this week begin showing Hatufim (aka Prisoners of War), the Israeli drama upon which Homeland was based.
