C4 faces the music

UK broadcaster Channel 4 (C4) has regained rights to the iTunes music festival in London, coverage of which previously aired on rival ITV.

Live coverage (8×60′) and highlights (4×30′) of the iTunes Festival 2012, which is set to feature performances from Jack White, Usher and Norah Jones, will be available across C4 channels including the flagship terrestrial net, plus digital-only E4 and youth strand T4 in September.

C4 was the first station to bring the annual live event to television back in 2007. Coverage then moved to digital channel ITV2 in 2008 and stayed there until ITV cancelled its agreement with iTunes earlier this month. Princess Productions, which worked on the ITV2 coverage, will continue to produce the shows for C4.
