Buccaneer to put out The Burning Girls

UK-based Buccaneer Media, the prodco behind Marcella, has secured the rights to adapt thriller novel The Burning Girls, written by Sunday Times Top Ten bestselling author CJ Tudor.

The Burning Girls follows Reverend Jack Brooks and her teenage daughter Flo as they make a fresh start in Chapel Croft. However, their new home has a dark past, including the suicide of the previous vicar and the disappearance of two teenagers without a trace.

Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge, Marcella) is attached to the project as screenwriter with Tony Wood, Richard Tulk-Hart and Anna Burns serving as executive producers.

Wood, joint CEO of Buccaneer Media, said: “The Burning Girls is a terrific story; it’s very easy to see how CJ Tudor has risen to the top of the charts in pretty short order. Her ability to tell a truly gripping story is exceptional. We’re thrilled to be pairing her with one of the great European television dramatists in Hans Rosenfeldt.”
