Broadcasters still keen on Tiger’s bumbling Bean

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has made new sales for its Mr Bean live-action and animated series, ahead of Rowan Atkinson’s bumbling character’s second appearance on the big screen at the end of the month.

According to FremantleMedia, the upcoming theatrical release of Mr Bean’s Holiday has “provided the perfect launch pad” for the library series for a new round of international broadcasters.

FME has secured a number of new sales for the 14×30′ Mr Bean live-action series, which was first aired in 1990. The series has been sold to Jeunesse TV in France; Fox in Italy; Disney in Taiwan; RTSI in Switzerland; Lithuania Radio & Television and Latitud in Guatemala.

The evergreen series from IMG Media-owned UK prodco Tiger Aspect Productions has also been renewed in 13 territories, including Australia, Hong Kong, pan-regional Latin America, Sweden, Switzerland and Denmark.

Meanwhile, Mr Bean The Animated Series (52×15’/26×30′) has made new sales to Kidz Entertainment in Denmark; Lithuania Radio & TV; MBC in the Middle East; Latitud in Guatemala and Prava I Prevodi in Serbia. It has also been re-licensed in Taiwan, Finland and Cyprus.
