Brexit doc leads BBC Factual’s mini slate of docs for BBC Two, iPlayer

Brexit: How Britain Voted Out comes from Brook Lapping

UK pubcaster the BBC has commissioned three new factual shows for BBC Two and streamer iPlayer, including a documentary about Brexit.

Brexit: How Britain Voted Out (2×60′, working title), produced by Zinc Media Group’s Brook Lapping, tells the story of the year that changed the course of British history, when UK citizens voted to withdraw from the European Union in 2020.

Meanwhile, The Diary of Anne Frank (w/t), is made by BBC Studios Specialist Factual Productions and PBS in association with Skai Greece. The 3×60’ series uses the Holocaust victim’s journal to tell the story of how 75% of the Jewish population was murdered by the Nazis during the Second World War.

Finally, Musk: The Next Chapter (w/t), produced by 72 Films, is the next instalment of BBC series The Elon Musk Show. It brings viewers up to date with the life of the richest person in the world.

Simon Young, head of commissioning for history at the BBC, said: “We want BBC History to reach the widest possible audience, from those seeking deep specialist expertise and insight, to those curious about the events of the recent past that are shaping the modern world.”
