Bresaz joins AMC unscripted efforts

US cablenet AMC has continued its push into original unscripted programming with an executive hire from its sister Sundance Channel.

Marco Bresaz is coming on board as VP of unscripted having previously developed Sundance originals Push Girls and The Writers’ Room as the channel’s VP of original programming and development.

Prior to that he had stints at TV Land, Spike TV and the daytime department at ABC.

AMC, better known for its hit drama series such as The Walking Dead, first dipped its toe into the unscripted waters in 2011 with Talking Dead, a live show to complement the drama, and has since aired Comic Book Men, The Pitch and Small Town Security.

Eliot Goldberg, to whom Bresaz will report, joined as senior VP of unscripted programming from CMT in June.
