Bravo hires two

US cablenet Bravo has added execs from BBC America and Ryan Seacrest Productions to its programme development team.

BBC alum Rachel Smith is now the VP of current production while Joseph Ferraro moves from Seacrest’s company to be VP of development.

Smith, formerly VP of original programming with BBC America, will be based in New York, reporting to senior VP of currently production and original programming, Shari Levine.

Smith spent six years with Bravo between 1999 and 2005 as manager of production and director of development and she will now executive produce series including The Real Housewives… franchise.

Ferraro will be based in LA reporting to VP of development Lara Spotts. At Ryan Seacrest Productions he was VP of development and prior to that was VP of programming at Discovery’s OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
