BPI’s Sophie Jones to replace Theresa Wise as RTS chief

NEWS BRIEF: The Royal Television Society (RTS) in the UK has appointed Sophie Jones as its new CEO, replacing Theresa Wise, who steps down later this year after 16 years in the post.

Jones is currently chief strategy officer at the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), which represents record labels and runs the BRIT Awards and Mercury Prize. She joined the BPI in 2020, before which she was head of corporate relations at Channel 4 for 12 years, where she was closely involved with the pubcaster’s 4 All the UK regional strategy. Earlier in her career, Jones held corporate and public affairs roles at ITV and ITN.
