Bounce TV goes to movies

US African-American network Bounce TV has acquired rights to packages of movie titles from four US studios.

Walt Disney, Miramax, Sony Pictures Television and MGM Domestic Television Distribution each signed individual, multi-year licensing agreements with the channel.

The deals, including titles like Sister Act 1 & 2, Cool Runnings and Daddy Day Care, mean that African-American theatrical films will “remain the backbone” of the channel’s schedule in the future, according to Bounce TV’s chief operating officer Jonathan Katz.

Bounce TV made its debut in September last year and launched its first original series last month.
