BossaNova hires Claire Lowe and Charlotte Johnson to fill commercial, business roles

Paul Heaney’s UK distributor BossaNova has appointed two new executives to fill newly created positions in financial, commercial and business affairs.

Claire Lowe

Claire Lowe has joined the company as commercial and business affairs director and Charlotte Johnson as finance and operations director.

Johnson comes to BossaNova after a year at factual indie Woodcut Media, having previously worked with Lowe at Beyond Rights, which acquired Heaney’s TCB Media Rights in April 2020 following the collapse of Kew Media Group.

Lowe will head the distributor’s commercial and business affairs department having previously worked with BossaNova CEO Heaney after she joined TCB Media Rights in 2013.

Charlotte Johnson

Lowe’s resume includes stints at Cineflix Rights, National Geographic TV International and Discovery Networks Europe.

Johnson, an ACCA-qualified finance professional with 15-plus years of financial leadership experience in the media sector, joined TCB Media Rights in 2016.

Heaney said: “I’ve worked with Charlotte and Claire for many years, so I know they’re both stunningly competent, highly motivated and the safest of safe hands. This makes the ambition of BossaNova to have a bulletproof back office very likely but also great for the quality of communication with our customers and suppliers.”
