Boomerang starts Chilean drama arm

Spanish producer Boomerang TV is expanding its interests in Chile with a new scripted production division and has named two execs to oversee it.

The arm will produce dramas for Chilean broadcasters and follows the arrival of Boomerang in the country in 2014. The company has coproduced the Top Chef with Chilean network Chilevisión and has also distributed series such as The Secret of Old Bridge in the territory.

Veteran Latino producer and former Chilevisión drama chief Vicente David Sabatini becomes fiction director, while Cecilia Stoltze, an alum of Chile’s TVN, has been named general producer.

Boomerang has been expanding its global footprint since being acquired by Lagardère last year.
