Boat Rocker promotes Natalie Vinet, brings former Gaumont exec Erik Pack in-house

The distribution arm of Canada-based studio Boat Rocker has promoted Natalie Vinet to senior VP of global distribution and brought veteran distribution exec Erik Pack on board in a full-time capacity.

Pack, who has formerly held senior executive roles at Gaumont Television, Power Television and Hallmark Entertainment, will serve as senior VP, global sales and coproductions.

Working from Boat Rocker’s London office, he will lead the day-to-day international sales strategy for the company’s scripted and documentary content across the UK and EMEA. He will also be tasked with sourcing new scripted content opportunities in the UK and EMEA for coproduction and acquisitions.

Since Boat Rocker acquired Platform One Media (later rebranded under the Boat Rocker umbrella) in 2019, Pack has worked with the company as a scripted sales and coproductions consultant on a part-time basis.

Meanwhile, in her expanded role, Toronto-based Vinet will oversee the day-to-day sales strategy for Boat Rocker’s unscripted programming globally, as well as adding new sales initiatives in scripted content for various territories.

Her other new responsibilities will include distribution team management, green light submissions and internal financial reporting.

Vinet joined Boat Rocker in 2017 as VP of global sales, unscripted following the company’s acquisition of Proper Television, where she was head of distribution for Proper Rights. Before joining Boat Rocker, Vinet was co-president of Buzz Taxi Distribution, which was acquired by Proper Television.

Both will continue to report to Jon Rutherford, president of Boat Rocker Studios, rights, who said: “This is an exciting time for Boat Rocker, as we expand our rights operation of distributing award-winning unscripted, kids and family programming to include a wealth of new premium scripted dramas and comedies, and documentary features.”
