BMP goes on adventure with Seahawk

Banijay Group’s US prodco Bunim/Murray Productions (BMP) has formed a joint venture with American Football star Russell Wilson’s production company, with a first show in the works.

BMP and West2East Empire will develop and produce unscripted programming together as part of the JV with BMP, which is behind franchises such as The Challenge, The Real World and Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Wilson will executive produce a US version of L’Aventure Robinson, Banijay’s celebrity adventure format that airs on TF1 in France and features two stars stranded on a desert island for five days.

“Bunim/Murray has a proven track record of success and we look forward to creating many entertaining and groundbreaking projects with the best in the business,” said Wilson.

“Russell is an incredible athlete whose skills on the field are matched by an impressive business acumen,” said BMP CEO Gil Goldschein. “His natural drive and creativity, coupled with his exceptional brand recognition and media savvy have all of us here at BMP thrilled about this new venture.”

Wilson is entering his seventh season playing as quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, having led the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2013.
