Blumhouse hires eOne, Dakota execs

Lisa Niedenthal, Alexandra Perez, Kyle Chalmers and Anne Pedersen

LA-based producer Blumhouse Television has revamped its management structure, creating five new positions and hiring executives from companies including Entertainment One (eOne) to take up the roles.

Lisa Niedenthal becomes exec VP of production and will oversee all of Blumhouse’s scripted and unscripted programming, while Tevin Adelman has been named VP of production and Alexandra Perez has been promoted to manager of production.

Niedenthal most recently served as senior VP of production for film, TV and digital at eOne, overseeing production on projects including Sharp Objects, which Blumhouse coproduced.

Prior to that she worked on shows for Disney, Viacom and Showtime, as well as being a producing partner of Emilio Estevez on his directing/writing projects including Rated X and Bobby.

Adelman joins from US-based Dakota Pictures where she was VP of production and worked on shows such as Deadbeat for Hulu, while Perez previously worked in production for Blumhouse.

Elsewhere, Kyle Chalmers becomes VP of development and original programming and Sahar Vahedi has been promoted to director of development. Chalmers previously served as director of original scripted content at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

Elsewhere, Anne Pedersen has joined as senior VP of business affairs, having previously worked as a consultant for FremantleMedia North America.

Blumhouse TV’s Marci Wiseman, co-president with Jeremy Gold, said the prodco’s slate, which includes series launches on HBO, Facebook Watch, USA Network, Hulu and Netflix, meant “staffing up has been a priority.”

“We have been very fortunate to bring on such outstanding executives to fill critically important roles in production, development and business affairs,” added Gold.

Blumhouse launched its TV division in 2017, backed by ITV. Its output includes HBO’s The Normal Heart and The Jinx. In March, it appointed a former Paramount executive to oversee scripted output.
