Blue Lights is a BBC police drama set in Belfast, Northern Ireland, following three probationary police officers and the challenges they face both on the job and within their own personal lives as they start out in their careers.

The series, made by Two Cities Television and Gallagher Films, debuted last year and recently returned for a second season, with a third and fourth already greenlit, with buyers from around the world having snapped up the show via BBC Studios.

Two Cities joint CEO Stephen Wright and Gallagher Films founder Louise Gallagher are co-creators and exec producers of Blue Lights and spoke to Michael Pickard about the origins of the show, their partnership with writer/directors Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson, and their approach to making a police drama set against the backdrop of Belfast’s unique history.
