Blue Ant to build on home renovation presenter Mike Holmes’ content catalogue

Mike Holmes has a programme library of over 200 hours

Canada’s Blue Ant Media has agreed a multi-faceted deal with local home renovation expert and TV presenter Mike Holmes and his company The Holmes Group.

Blue Ant Media has acquired a library of more than 200 hours of unscripted original series and specials from Holmes.

The catalogue includes all seasons of series he has fronted, such as Holmes on Homes (seasons 1-7), Holmes Makes it Right (S1-2) and Holmes Inspection (S1-3), in addition to specials including Holmes for the Holidays, Holmes in New Orleans and Mike’s Ultimate Garage.

Blue Ant said that as current licensing agreements expire, the library of programming will launch exclusively on its FAST channel Homeful, which focuses on real estate, design and home decoration.

In addition, sales arm Blue Ant International now holds the distribution rights to Holmes’ catalogue and will begin shopping titles at Mipcom in October.

The new partnership will also see Blue Ant Media commissioning new projects featuring Holmes and his children Michael Holmes Jr and Sherry Holmes for its Canadian television platforms and Homeful. Details of the new shows are expected to be announced in the coming months.

“As we continue to grow our free streaming channels, building our library of acquired and original IP will be a priority so we can bring audiences and platforms exclusive content they can’t find anywhere else,” said Jamie Schouela, Blue Ant’s president of global channels and media.
