Blue Ant closes North American sales

Lifestyle streaming network Tastemade will offer David Rocco’s Dolce Napoli

Linear and streaming platforms across North America have acquired more than 300 hours of content from Canadian distributor Blue Ant International.

The deals, across the US, the Caribbean Basin and Canada, span the distributor’s factual, specialist factual, high-impact documentaries and kids and family categories.

They include lifestyle streaming network Tastemade picking up David Rocco’s Dolce Napoli (13×30′), produced by Rockhead Entertainment, which follows the celebrity chef to Italy.

Meanwhile, AMC Networks’ streaming service Sundance Now has picked up Fight for Justice: David & Me (1×90′), made by Markham Street Films.

The film chronicles the efforts of filmmaker Ray Klonsky in his 10-year struggle to overturn the prison sentence imposed on David McCallum, who was a 16-year-old from Brooklyn when he went to prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

Elsewhere, BYUtv will broadcast Paul Brandt’s Build It Forward (7×60′), produced by Corkscrew Media, which is hosted by country music star Paul Brandt and follows the goodwill and grace of volunteers who create a new home for a family in need. They, in turn, help build a new home for another family, this time in a developing country.

“The broad audiences that our platform partners offer speaks to the universal appeal of Blue Ant International’s catalogue, which has a diverse array of genres and includes programming narrated by the iconic voices of some of Hollywood’s top talent,” said Solange Attwood, executive VP at Blue Ant International.
