Blue Ant captures Detention Adventure

Canadian distributor Blue Ant International has obtained worldwide rights to Canadian tween drama Detention Adventure as production begins on the show’s third season.

Danté Prince

Originally shown on Canadian streamer CBC Gem, the show is about a group of school children who deliberately get themselves put into detention in order to solve mysteries and uncover hidden treasure.

It was the first kids’ scripted series to be made for the platform and has already been sold to ITV in the UK and US streamer HBO Max.

The show is made by Canada’s LoCo Motion Pictures and was created by Joe Kicak and Carmen Albano, who executive produce alongside Lauren Corber, president of LoCo Motion.

The third season sees actor and dancer Danté Prince join the cast as new character Dash, while Carolyn Taylor (Baroness Von Sketch Show) guest stars.

Corber said: “We set out to create a tween series that offers a true co-viewing experience for families with jokes for both parents and kids. We’re proud to have accomplished that and more in this show. We’re looking forward to bringing the team back together as well as welcoming our newcomers Carolyn and Danté to this exciting new season featuring more pranks, original songs and fun clues to uncover.”

Solange Attwood, executive VP of Blue Ant International, said: “The third season of Detention Adventure will give kids and families around the world the chance to follow this smart and captivating cast of characters as they embark on a new and exciting mystery.”
