Blue Ant builds new home for reno expert Mike Holmes, reveals A Secret to Die For

Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy will air on Blue Ant’s Cottage Life

BANFF: Canada’s Blue Ant Media is preparing a slate of unscripted programming for its local speciality TV networks and global free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels in 2024, including a home renovation series fronted by Mike Holmes and his family.

Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy (6×60′) will be produced by The Holmes Group and is set to air on Blue Ant’s Cottage Life network in spring 2024 and will also be made available on FAST channel Homeful worldwide.

The reboot of Canadian builder Mike Holmes’ original franchise will see him joined by his son and daughter Michael and Sherry to look at renovations carried out by crooked or incompetent contractors and worthy homeowners that have gone wrong.

Also in the line-up is A Secret to Die For (10×60′), produced by Blue Ant Studios, which is scheduled to air in fall 2024 on T+E in Canada and will also roll out on Total Crime in the US at a later date. The show investigates how a person’s secret life can end up costing them their own.

Blue Ant International is handling pre-sales and licensing opportunities worldwide for both series. The commissions were announced today at Banff World Media Festival in Canada.

The company has also renewed Intervention Canada (Makeful), Haunted Hospitals (T+E/HauntTV) and Mysteries from Above (Cottage Life). Blue Ant Media’s slate is overseen by Sam Linton, VP of production and development for global media.

“Our new original series with Mike Holmes is a great example of home reno programming that will resonate with the extensive fanbase Mike has grown over the last 20 years,” said Carlyn Staudt, head of commissioning for global media at Blue Ant Media.
