Toronto-headquartered Blink49 Studios has named unscripted veteran Adam Steinman as executive VP of global formats and acquisitions.
The Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) and Disney alum will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and developing formats across both scripted and unscripted programming.
He will be based out of LA and report to Blink49’s president of global unscripted Tara Long and president of scripted Pancho Mansfield.
Steinman, who is well known on the international formats circuit, previously spent more than a decade with Warner Bros International TV Production as VP of creative, format, development and sales.
During his tenure with Warner Bros, he played a role in the development, acquisition and international launch of formats including Impractical Jokers, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Hello Goodbye, Who Do You Think You Are?, Ellen’s Game Of Games, Little Big Shots, True Story and The Wheel.
He exited that role in 2023 to launch Mount Royal Films, which has a multi-year overall deal with Walt Disney Television Alternative.
Fifth Season-backed Blink49 also appointed Adam Puchalsky to lead a newly launched branded entertainment studio as president.
New York-based Puchalsky, who was formerly the global head of brand partnerships at Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat, as well as holding leadership roles at media agencies Wavemaker and UM Studios, will oversee brand-driven content and experiences for Blink49.
During his career, Puchalsky has been responsible for spearheading global campaigns for brands such as P&G, Coca-Cola and JPMorgan Chase. Reporting to Long, his official title is president, brand studio.
The launch of the new branded entertainment division comes seven weeks after Blink49 backer Fifth Season teamed with US production and management company Sugar23 to launch a branded content studio. The companies previously said that the joint-venture branded studio plans to co-finance more than US$100m of content over the next three years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Adam Steinman and Adam Puchalsky to Blink49 Studios,” said Blink49 CEO John Morayniss.
“Their expertise and leadership in content innovation and brand partnerships will accelerate our strategy to produce bold, engaging content while expanding our reach in Canada and internationally.”
