Big Fish swims off with Half Yard’s Starr

Big Fish Entertainment has appointed the VP of programming at fellow US production company Half Yard Productions as its VP of development.

Jordana Starr

Jordana Starr has joined the New York-based producer in the role and will report to Big Fish’s senior VP of development, George McTeague.

Big Fish is behind documentary series Live PD, which airs on A&E Network and follows various police departments from across the US in real time as they patrol their communities.

Starr had creative oversight of pilots, series and specials including Say Yes to the Dress for TLC, during her time at Half Yard Productions.

Before joining Half Yard, Starr was senior producer of digital at HBO, where she managed content creation for several original series. She has also worked with networks including AMC, ABC, HGTV and MTV, where her credits included My Super Sweet 16. Starr began her television career at the Howard Stern Show and ABC News in New York.

Big Fish’s latest show, dating series Date Night Live, premiered in the US on Lifetime last night, while Live PD was extended by A&E for an additional 100 episodes earlier this month.
