Big Coat alum Christine Diakos takes up Canadian unscripted role at eOne

Veteran Canadian executive Christine Diakos has joined Entertainment One (eOne) as VP of unscripted TV development in Canada.

Christine Diakos

Diakos, who was formerly senior VP of production and development at Toronto-based Big Coat Media, will lead the development, creation and pitching of new unscripted programming, focusing particularly on lifestyle, reality and competition series.

During her time at Big Coat Media, she served as supervising producer on series including Love It or List It (HGTV), Love It or List It Vancouver (HGTV) and Jillian and Justin (W Network).

Before that, she held several senior production and development roles at Canadian outfits including Peacock Alley Entertainment and Shaw Media, the latter of which was acquired by Corus Entertainment in 2016.

Scott Boyd

In addition, eOne elevated Scott Boyd to VP of unscripted development, overseeing factual, true crime and docuseries content. He will work alongside Diakos.

Boyd has been with eOne since 2017 and joined the company after it bought Vancouver-based production company Paperny Entertainment. Prior to his promotion, Boyd was director of development, overseeing projects such as Make it to the Moon (Discovery) and Arctic Vets (CBC).

Diakos and Boyd will both report to eOne’s president of Canadian television, Jocelyn Hamilton.

“I’m thrilled that Christine is joining us as we continue to build out our unscripted slate. Her depth of experience in the lifestyle space will be a perfect complement to Scott’s expertise in factual,” said Hamilton.
