Beta Film keeps it Simple with global sales rights to Movistar Plus+ series

Fácil (Simple) will premiere in December

German distributor Beta Film has acquired international distribution rights to Spanish series Fácil (Simple), produced by Destruction and Salvation for Movistar Plus+.

Fácil joins Beta Film’s extensive catalogue of Spanish productions and continues its collaboration with Movistar+, from which it will bring titles such as El Immortal, Rapa and La Unidad to Mipcom in Cannes next month.

Although Movistar Plus+ launched its own international distribution arm earlier this year – called Movistar Plus+ Internacional and headed by María Valenzuela – it was made clear that Beta would continue to distribute some of the company’s titles thanks to a pre-existing agreement.

Fácil, which will be distributed internationally as Simple, was created by Anna R Costa (Arde Madrid) and tells the story of four diverse women who want to live together in a flat in La Barceloneta, Barcelona.

The 5×60’ series stars Natalia de Molina, Anna Castillo, Anna Marchessi and Coria Castillo and will premiere on Movistar Plus+ on December 1.

Meanwhile, Beta Film has sold fellow Movistar Plus+ drama Rapa to Italian pubcaster Rai and Polar+, of Canal+ Group, in France. Produced by Portocabo, Rapa is already the most watched series of the year on Movistar Plus+ and has a second season in production.

In addition, Beta has shopped The Immortal (international title Gangs of Madrid), another Movistar series,  to French pay TV channel OCS, Belgian streamer Streamz and VoD platform Go3 for Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

El Immortal is a Movistar Plus+ and Telemundo International Studios coproduction produced by DLO Producciones.
