Beta Film, Foss Productions join forces on TV adaptation of bestseller The Great Chimera

Beta Film is pitching Greek drama The Great Chimera at London TV Screenings

LONDON TV SCREENINGS: German distributor Beta Film is in London this week pitching Greek drama The Great Chimera.

The series is being produced by Athens-based Foss Productions, co-produced with broadcaster ERT which will air the six-part drama in Greece.

Beta is also on board as a coproducer and is handling international sales of the drama which stars Italy’s Fotinì Peluso (Netflix’s Everything Calls for Salvation, Greek Salad) and Andreas Konstantinou (Milky Way, Cloudy Sunday).

Shooting has started on the Greek Island of Syros under the helm of director Vardis Marinakis (Silent Road, Zizotek, Black Field), before moving to Greece’s capital Athens as well as Trieste in Italy.

Set in the 1930s, The Great Chimera by M Karagatsis is a modern Greek tragedy exploring the complex psychological life of its female protagonist, who seeks more than the traditional role expected of women.
