Beta Film appoints chief content officer

German producer and distributor Beta Film has hired an experienced exec from Israeli broadcaster Yes as its first chief content officer.

Koby Gal-Raday

Koby Gal-Raday is taking the newly created position at the Munich-based firm to reinforce its position as both a creator and distributor of high-end drama.

The move, which is effective from July, represents a return to Germany for Gal-Raday, who led coproductions for broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 before becoming Yes’s chief content officer in 2017.

At Yes, Gal-Raday is responsible for all areas of content strategy, business development, creativity, programming, content and channel acquisition, as well as original content in all genres.

His credits include Fauda, Your Honour, On the Spectrum, Magpie, The Good Cop and Just for Today.

Gal-Raday, whose other previous roles include head of scripted and documentaries at Israel’s Reshet – Channel 2, said: “I’m delighted to join [CEO] Jan Mojto, [MD] Moritz von Kruedener and the whole team at Beta Film and its affiliated European production companies in its unique vision to create together world-class scripted content.

“We share the ambition to explore untold stories and to partner and work closely with A-list writers, directors and actors across the globe, always in search of groundbreaking projects.”

Mojto added: “In an industry where the basic most precious resource – creativity – is limited, Koby Gal-Raday is an invaluable asset. I am proud that he is joining the Beta team.”
