Beach House, CCTV Craft docuseries

Art of Craft will be offered at MipTV

Chinese documentary channel CCTV9 has commissioned Blue Ant-owned Singaporean prodco Beach House Pictures to coproduce a docuseries called Art of Craft.

Beach House Pictures, owned by Canada’s Blue Ant Media, will produce the 5×60’ series with CCTV9 and support from Infocomm Media Development Authority, with distributor Blue Ant International making the series available for pre-sale at MipTV in Cannes next week.

Art of Craft explores the stories behind the world’s leading craftsmen in their respective fields, including a 23rd-generation Venetian glass-blower, an Indian sari maker and an organ master from Montreal.

The series is exec produced by Donovan Chan, creative director of Beach House Pictures, and will air on CCTV9 later this year.

Meanwhile, fellow Blue Ant prodco NHNZ has started production on its previously announced 10-part nature series Orangutan Jungle School, which forms part of a strategy shift for Blue Ant’s natural history network Love Nature.
