BBCWW shuffles South Asia team

BBC Worldwide (BBCWW) has reshuffled its sales team in South Asia following a group-wide restructure and the appointment of a former Disney Media Distribution sales exec.

Sunil Joshi, who headed distribution for North and Western India, has been made head of distribution for BBC Global News, South Asia.

The shift comes after Stanley Fernandes, a senior manager at Disney Media Distribution, joined BBCWW in February as sales director, in charge of programme sales across the region.

That appointment came amidst a global rejig, that in April resulted in Myleeta Aga, general manager and creative head of BBCWW Productions India, taking on the new position of senior VP and general manager.

The company has also revised its channel distribution in the region, ceasing Indian feeds of CBeebies and BBC Entertainment in November last year.

Both Joshi and Fernandes are based in Mumbai and report to Aga, with Fernandes in charge of TV content sales to all linear channels and digital platforms in India and the rest of the subcontinent.
