BBC4, PBS visit Notre-Dame

Rebuilding Notre Dame (1×60′) is from Windfall Films

The UK’s BBC4 and US science strand Nova have greenlit a documentary about the rebuilding of Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris from Argonon Group-owned UK indie Windfall Films.

Rebuilding Notre Dame: Inside the Great Cathedral Rescue was commissioned by BBC4 channel editor Cassian Harrison and specialist factual commissioning editor Sreya Biswas, and by Chris Schmidt and Julia Cort, co-executive producers for Nova.

The Nova strand airs on public broadcaster PBS in the US and is a production of WGBH Boston. In the US, the 1×60’ show will be titled Saving Notre Dame. ITV Studios is handling distribution outside the UK and the US.

“It has been eye-opening to witness first-hand the race to rebuild Notre-Dame in this crucial first year and have access to the amazing team of people who are trying to save it from collapse,” said Biswas. “It was a real tragedy when one of the most famous buildings in the world caught fire, and it is a privilege to be able to tell this inside story.”
