BBC4, PBS visit Notre Dame

Rebuilding Notre Dame (1×60′) is from Windfall Films

The UK’s BBC4 and US science strand Nova have greenlit a documentary about the rebuilding of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris from Argonon Group-owned UK indie Windfall Films.

Rebuilding Notre Dame: Inside the Great Cathedral Rescue was commissioned by BBC4 channel editor Cassian Harrison and specialist factual commissioning editor Sreya Biswas, and by Chris Schmidt and Julia Cort, co-executive producers for Nova.

The Nova strand airs on public broadcaster PBS in the US and is a production of WGBH Boston. In the US, the 1×60’ show will be titled Saving Notre Dame. ITV Studios is handling distribution outside the UK and the US.

“It has been eye-opening to witness first-hand the race to rebuild Notre Dame in this crucial first year and have access to the amazing team of people who are trying to save it from collapse,” said Biswas. “It was a real tragedy when one of the most famous buildings in the world caught fire, and it is a privilege to be able to tell this inside story.”
