BBC1 to reboot Blankety Blank

Blankety Blank’s new presenter Bradley Walsh

Classic UK gameshow Blankety Blank is being revived for a full series by public broadcaster BBC1, following a Christmas special last year.

Following the success of the special, which drew more than six million viewers on Christmas Day, the show will return on Saturday nights on the BBC’s flagship channel.

The new 10×35’ series will see a panel of celebrities help contestants fill in the gaps in sentences. The Chase’s host Bradley Walsh is set to present.

The format is being produced by Fremantle-owned UK prodco Thames, with Christopher Barber exec producing for the company.

The original Blankety Blank ran on BBC1 for 17 seasons between 1979 and 1999 hosted by Terry Wogan and later by Les Dawson.
