BBC1 scales The Wall again

BBC1 has commissioned a second season of its Danny Dyer-fronted version of US gameshow format The Wall from Remarkable Television, part of Endemol Shine UK.

The show is due to return to the UK pubcaster’s flagship channel in 2020, having just concluded its first run over the weekend.

Hosted by EastEnders star Dyer and voiced by TV legend Angela Rippon, The Wall is described as the ultimate combination of strategy, knowledge and luck.

The original format was created by SpringHill Entertainment and Andrew Glassman’s Glassman Media in collaboration with Universal Television Alternative Studio.

It was first shown in the US on NBC in 2016 and has been sold to 28 territories.

The Wall has been commissioned by Charlotte Moore, director BBC content, and Kate Phillips, controller, entertainment.

The commissioning editor for the BBC is Rachel Ashdown. Executive producer for Remarkable TV is Richard Hague and the series producer is Stephen Lovelock.
