Crazy Fun Park was commissioned by the ABC

UK pubcaster BBC has acquired Australian tween comedy horror series Crazy Fun Park, produced by Werner Film Productions.

The new series, which was originally commissioned by Oz pubcaster the ABC and premiered in Australia in January, will stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK during autumn.

Crazy Fun Park follows a teenager who discovers an undead realm of ghouls following the death of his best friend at an abandoned theme park.

International distributor ACTF has also sold the show into Spain, Finland, Norway, Lithuania, Belgium, Slovenia, Taiwan and New Zealand, with other sales currently being finalised.

ACTF head of content Bernadette O’Mahony said: “Crazy Fun Park is full of fun, humour and horror, interwoven with a relatable and moving story about friendship and grief. Full of quirky characters and set in an extraordinary world full of ghosts and ghouls, Crazy Fun Park is a life-affirming, visually stunning, rollicking ride, and we can’t wait for UK audiences to experience it.”
