BBC Three boards comedy drama from Timewasters creator Daniel Lawrence Taylor

BBC Three in the UK has commissioned a coming-of-age comedy drama created by Daniel Lawrence Taylor (Timewasters) and produced by All3Media-owned Studio Lambert.

Boarders (6×45’) follows the lives of five underprivileged black students from inner-city London who win scholarships to an elite boarding school.

Stepping out of the urban metropolis and into a world they can only describe as something out of Harry Potter, the characters will experience the highs and lows of boarding school, learning about themselves, their identity and what life on the other side looks like.

Lawrence Taylor is best known for creating, writing and starring in ITV2 satirical time-travel drama Timewasters. Joining him in the writers room for Boarders are Emma Dennis-Edwards, Yemi Oyefuwa and Ryan Calais Cameron.

Lawrence Taylor will exec produce with Studio Lambert head of drama Susan Hogg and executive producer Maddie Sinclair, plus Ayela Butt and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC.
