BBC Studios, Guangdong Radio & TV partner on new wildlife series

MIPCOM: BBC Studios’ award-winning Science Unit has announced a coproduction with China’s Guangdong Radio & Television (GRT) for a new three-part wildlife series, Our Home: Wild Guangdong (w/t).

The series, unveiled in Cannes this morning, will explore the natural wonders of Guangdong, China’s most populous province, and its unique wildlife, ecosystems and landscapes.

The collaboration with GRT, a provincial media group offering services across radio, television, OTT platforms and mobile, will bring global audiences a detailed look at how Guangdong’s distinctive geography and microclimate have fostered an unexpected wildlife haven.

Andrew Cohen, head of BBC Studios Production’s Science Unit, said: “We are incredibly proud and privileged to be partnering with Guangdong Radio & Television on this ambitious project. The series will share the beauty of Guangdong with audiences around the world, showcasing the different environments that make this such a unique and inspiring part of the natural world.”
