BBC Studios gets first look at Youngest

BBC Studios (BBCS) has inked a first-look distribution deal with Youngest Media, the London-based indie founded by two former Endemol execs.

Under the deal, BBCS will represent Youngest Media’s formats in all territories other than the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and the US.

Specialising in entertainment and gameshow formats,Youngest’s catalogue includes ITV gameshow Small Fortune, which is covered by the BBCS deal, while previous formats include dating series Game of Clones and quizshow Hardball.

The company was founded by David Flynn, the ex-chief commercial officer at Endemol Shine UK, and Lucas Church, the former CEO of Endemol UK and chairman of Endemol Shine UK. It has production bases in both the UK and Germany.

Mark Linsey, BBCS chief commercial officer, said: “When it comes to those big commercial entertainment formats, Youngest is one of the best. They have established themselves as experts in turning brilliant big entertainment ideas into sellable formats with universal appeal.”
