BBC Studios content bound for FAST channel Fuse Beat

Idris Elba in BBC drama Luther

US-based Fuse Media has acquired over 60 hours of programming for its Fuse Beat channel from BBC Studios.

Free ad-supported television network Fuse Beat was created in June to focus on programming featuring black people and has picked up shows including UK crime drama Luther, starring Idris Elba, and comedy sketch show Famalam.

The acquisitions will have a staggered release on Fuse Beat in November and December and also include comedy drama Youngers, crime series Undercover and The Shadow Line, and nature series Africa With Ade.

Fuse Beat was set up with Quincy Newell’s Twentyone14 Media and US entertainment company Cinedigm.
