BBC Studios Comedy Productions bolsters team with Jax Media’s Molly Seymour

BBC Studios Comedy Productions has appointed Molly Seymour, current head of the UK arm of US producer Jax Media (Broad City, Emily in Paris), as creative director.

Seymour will join the Inside No. 9, Good Omens, Trying and Black Ops producer in the newly created role next month, reporting to head of comedy Josh Cole and working across a slate of scripted comedies and comedy dramas.

At Jax Media UK, Seymour developed and produced Dillon Mapletoft and Oliver Taylor’s Everyone Else Burns with Universal International Studios for Channel 4 in the UK and The CW in the US.

She also produced short-form series Peck’Eds with writer/performer Soph Galustian for BBC Three.

With 14 years of experience in the TV and film industry working with emerging and established UK talent, Seymour has previously set up projects in the UK and US with the BBC, Showtime, HBO Max, Sky and AMC.

Prior to Jax, Seymour worked in development at BBC Studios-owned Baby Cow where she produced Jon Pointing’s short-form series Hunter for BBC Three. Before Baby Cow, Seymour was assistant producer to Richard Curtis across Red Nose Day as well as films About Time and Esio Trot.

BBC Studios has been behind hits such as The Office, Absolutely Fabulous and The Thick of It. Its recent shows include Inside No. 9 and Brain in Gear, alongside Good Omens for Amazon-owned Prime Video, Trying for Apple TV+ and A Whole Lifetime with Jamie Demetriou for Netflix, which was recently honoured at the prestigious Rose d’Or Awards.
