BBC Studios adapting sitcoms Here We Go, Mammoth in the US with Universal, Fox

Here We Go has been commissioned for a fourth season in the UK

BBC Studios (BBCS) is adapting a pair of British sitcoms, Here We Go and Mammoth, in the American market.

The commercial arm of UK pubcaster the BBC said adaptations are currently in development with Universal Television and Fox Entertainment, respectively.

Created and written by Tom Basden, Here We Go follows the chaotic Jessop family through the handheld camera of teenage son Sam. The American version is being written by Matt Murray, with Amy Poehler’s production banner Paper Kite attached as an executive producer.

The British version, which stars Alison Steadman, Katherine Parkinson, Jim Howick and Basden, was renewed by BBC One for a fourth season in October.

BBC Studios is jointly developing Mammoth alongside Fox Entertainment. The Wales-shot series, created by and starring comedian Mike Bubbins, follows a PE teacher who is revived in 2024 after being frozen in an avalanche some 50 years earlier. The show premiered in April 2024 on BBC Two and iPlayer and returned for a second season in December 2025.

“We’re thrilled to see the momentum behind our scripted formats here in the US continue to build,” said BBCS’s president of scripted LA productions, Mark Linsey.

“Both Here We Go and Mammoth are fantastic examples of the kind of bold, character‑driven British storytelling that resonates with audiences worldwide. Partnering with exceptional American talent and studios to reimagine these series for US viewers is an exciting next step and reflects our ambition to grow BBC Studios’ scripted footprint in this key market.”

Josh Cole, chief creative officer of fiction and comedy at BBCS, added: “These adaptations underscore the strength and versatility of British comedies. Here We Go has grown into one of the BBC’s most distinctive, warmly received family comedies, while Mammoth’s brilliantly unique premise has huge global potential. We’re delighted to see both series attract such strong US interest and look forward to partnering with Paper Kite Productions and Fox Entertainment.”
